Cash acceptors weaving update for protection against counterfeit bank notes
Dear Customers,
We hereby inform you about common facts of detecting counterfeit bank notes of the nominal value 5000 RUR with the inscription 'Happy New Year' introduced via payment terminals. A bank note is detectable by the cash acceptors of the CashCode SM model having weaving issued before 12.01.2015, the versions older than SM-1352/AF and SME-1324/AF. To lock the possibility of acceptance of such bank notes it is necessary to update the weaving of the cash acceptors up to the version SM-1352/AF and SME-1324/AF.
To prevent a possibility of accepting the counterfeit bank notes it is necessary to update the weaving of the cash acceptor.
The stages of the weaving update:
1. Purchase a card with the updated MemoryStick weaving.
2. The engineers of your company have to insert the card into the cash acceptor of every terminal with the CashCode SM cash acceptor and re-weave it.
The number of counterfeit 5000 bank notes detected within the RF bank system in 2014 - 60.9 thousand RUR.
Their amount is 304.6 mln RUR.
We strictly recommend to duly update weaving of the cash acceptors, to avoid possible acceptance of counterfeit bank notes.
